Advantages and scope of application of cold rolled sheet

Jan 08,2025

I. What is cold rolled sheet
Cold rolled sheet is a flat steel processed by cold rolling, with high mechanical strength and good surface flatness, and is not easy to deformation and cracking. Cold rolling process refers to the hot-rolled sheet at room temperature processing again, that is, in the cold rolling mill will be hot-rolled sheet pressed into the required plate shape. Compared with the hot rolled plate, cold rolled plate surface is more smooth, more accurate size.

II. The advantages of cold rolled plate
1, good surface flatness: higher than the surface flatness of hot rolled plate, not easy to form wrinkles and cracks.

2, high dimensional accuracy: cold rolled plate has a higher dimensional accuracy, can be used for parts with high dimensional requirements.

3, high mechanical strength: cold rolled plate has better mechanical properties than hot rolled plate, suitable for some high-strength applications.

4, low cost: cold rolled plate production costs are lower than hot rolled plate, because the cold rolling process does not require heating, can save energy.

5, good surface finish: cold rolled plate surface smooth, not easy to produce pollution and corrosion, suitable for applications with high requirements for surface finish.

III. The scope of application of cold rolled sheet
1, The construction field: cold rolled sheet is widely used in building structures, such as steel structure houses, snap boards, corrugated boards, etc..

2, Automotive field: cold rolled sheet is commonly used in automobile body, door, roof, hood, wheel hub and other parts.

3, Home appliance field: cold rolled sheet can be used for all kinds of kitchen appliances, cleaning appliances, refrigeration equipment.

4, Mechanical field: cold rolled sheet is suitable for machinery manufacturing, industrial pipelines, bearing parts, gears, etc..
