Difference between galvanized sheet and cold rolled sheet
Jan 08,2025
The difference between galvanized sheet and cold rolled sheet is mainly reflected in the following aspects:
Physical properties:
Galvanized sheet: good corrosion resistance, easy construction, with high strength and high ductility of a good match, has become a kind of high strength, good formability of stamping steel.
Cold rolled sheet: high hardness, very smooth surface, generally thin plate, can be used as stamping plate.
Material:
Galvanized sheet: the main materials are hot-dip galvanized steel sheet and electro-galvanized steel sheet.
Cold Rolled Plate: The main material is stamping grade cold rolled plate, which is also divided into cold rolled plate for general use, deep-drawn, extra-deep-drawn and ultra-deep-drawn grade cold rolled plate according to production requirements.
Process:
Galvanized sheet: alloy products made by galvanizing process with a layer of zinc on the surface of the steel sheet.
Cold rolled sheet: hot rolled coil as raw material, rolled at room temperature below the recrystallization temperature, the production process usually after raw material preparation, cold rolling, heat treatment, leveling and finishing and other major processes.
Application Fields:
Galvanized sheet: Because of its good corrosion resistance, it is widely used in occasions that require corrosion resistance, such as construction, home appliances, automobiles and other fields.
Cold rolled sheet: mostly used in automobile manufacturing, electrical products and other occasions requiring high strength and good surface quality.
To sum up, there are significant differences between galvanized sheet and cold rolled sheet in terms of physical properties, materials, processes and application areas. The choice of which sheet depends on the specific needs and scenarios of use.
